Long Islands are a family of cocktails that gained popularity in the 1980’s. Follow the first steps of this guide to make your base, then choose your favourite variant. Add equal parts vodka, tequila, white rum, gin and triple sec to a shaker with two parts lemon juice. Add ice and shake well, then strain into a tall glass with ice. A classic Long Island Iced Tea is then topped with coke, but there’s a huge number of variations. Long Beach Iced Tea? Use cranberry juice. Hawaiian Iced Tea? Pineapple. Long Island Lemonade? Take a guess.
